Brief Family History:
Both Kymberlie’s parents are muggles. Her father, Jax Valdez, was born into a poor family and was raised in Madrid, Spain from birth until eighteen years of age. He is the oldest son of four boys – Marc, Joel, and Lucas are his brothers. His father left them when he was a boy and he was raised by his mother alone, who was a maid as a profession. They grew up dirt poor and so to make his life better, Jax did well in school and got a scholarship to attend the University of London in England, majoring in business, and spent his last year of schooling studying abroad in Italy, where he met Kymberlie’s mother, Mia Dulce De Luca.
This is your typical rags to riches story (except the other way around) which has inspired many of Kymberlie's romantic ideals. Mia was a woman of high class. Her father, Giancarlo, was a successful Italian Soap Opera Star. The family lived in Florence, Italy. Mia’s mother, Giulietta, designed wedding dresses. Mia is the youngest of six siblings. In order from youngest to oldest it is Mia, Mariella, Matteo, Margherita, Marcello and Massimo.
Mia, with her head in the clouds, always dreamed that a handsome man would and sweep her off her feet. Spoiled by wealth and riches, she tended to fall for older men with money, the kind that reminded her of her father. Valuing money and security above all else, Jax and Mia fell in love despite their age difference of six years, Jax at 23 and Mia at 17. Jax wanted true love and Mia mistook money for love.
Immediately after Jax graduated from the University of London, the two of them moved to a wealthy town in Bath, Somerset, England with money given to them as a wedding gift from their parents. Mia was used to living a wealthy life before Jax and her expectations from him were immediately set high.
There, Mia and Jax started their own jewelry business with a partner, Robert, that Jax met at the University. Jax tried hard to make money to support their future family since Mia refused to work. Within a few years, Jax Jewelers became very popular and since then, he has extended his business by franchising in London and surrounding cities. Currently, he is expanding his business to Italy, Spain and France.
With his success, Mia slowly became very materialistic and spoiled her father, her brothers and sisters with lavish gifts and beautiful homes. Ultimately, she let her husband run the business and decided to be a stay at home mother while Jax paid all the expenses for them.
Mia gave birth to two fraternal twin girls, Kylie and Kymberlie. Kymberlie spent her whole life as a daddy’s girl, usually getting spoiled with jewelry and clothes along with her sister, Kylie. Mia b had become accustomed to the lavish lifestyle so Kylie and Kymberlie usually got whatever it was that they desired. On the other hand, her father knew the importance of money and tried his best to instill ideas of a good work ethic, the importance of school, the importance of manners and self-respect, family and loyalties, claiming that selfishness will not get you anywhere in life. He always remembered his poor roots and wanted his daughters to be humble and modest. However, Mia had her own ideas.
Kymberlie had always gotten attention in her family and in school, while priding herself in being a self-proclaimed “fashionista” as well as an “aspiring actress,” she generally likes to be popular with people. Kymberlie was the only one of the two sisters to possess magical powers. Before Kymberlie, neither Jax nor Mia even knew that magic existed – not until they received the letter from Hogwarts.
Content with her life, Kymberlie was, at first, not happy when her parents decided she should go to Hogwarts and learn magic and embrace her unique qualities. The way her mother described her magical abilities was like diamonds – rare but beautiful. At the same time, Kymberlie had a tendency to compete with her sister Kylie and disliked the idea of being away from her home and her room with all of her things while Kylie got all the attention.
However, her father convinced her that she would be better off going and being a daddy’s girl, Kymberlie reluctantly obliged. She is still warming up to the idea of being at Hogwarts but always the optimist, Kymberlie is trying to look at the bright side of life and hold close to her those ideals of spreading her values far and wide.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Kymberlie is very friendly. She will make friends with anyone who gives her the attention that she craves. Kymberlie likes to be popular and will go to extreme measures to make sure that she is well liked by people – this includes pleasing them by getting them gifts or shelling out compliments. This feeds into her self-esteem big time.
Kymberlie considers herself a socialite and a natural born leader. She knows who she is and she knows what she wants out of life. Kymberlie likes to be involved with school activities and genuinely cares about other people. Kym is always paying attention to everything that’s going on around her and although she tries her best to listen, though Kymberlie prefers to be the one speaking.
She’s not manipulative and back-stabbing at all, but she is very loyal and sweet to her friends. In terms of academics, Kymberlie isn’t exactly a brain. She excels in anything creative and fails when it comes to subjects that pertain to logical reasoning. Kymberlie’s father always tried to explain to her the importance of schooling but Kymberlie is still too young to understand just how important that will be in the future.
Kym’s favorite subjects at the moment within her primary school are art, choir and theater. Her least favorite subjects are mathematics, science classes and reading classes.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Kymberlie’s most obvious weakness is her lack of academic interests. She has never been interested in learning about history, science or math. If it doesn’t involve fashion, jewelry, anything pretty or shiny, she has a hard time understanding its value. This is solely the influence from her mother.
Also, she will go to extreme lengths to make something or herself visually appealing but practicality never comes into play. Kymberlie has no concept of “less is more” or when enough is enough. She will, at times, cross the lines of personal space, trying to push her ideas off on others. Her intentions are good but she is a bit too clingy and needy for her own good.
Her other flaws include her tendency to be over-dramatic, overbearing and far too chatty during class time. Kymberlie is a bit of a dreamer, much like her mother, and her head is always in the clouds. Kymberlie fancies romance and is a hopeless romantic, hoping that one day she will have the romance that her parents have (or so she thinks they have). She has a hard time settling for anything less than what she wants and she has no problem
pouting until she gets it – blame her parents for spoiling her.
Kymberlie is very materialistic. Although she won’t judge someone who doesn’t understand her vain ideals or doesn’t own a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, she tends to try and recruit people into her way of thinking as well as giving them gifts and showering them with kindness. The last major weakness that Kymberlie possesses is her over-emotional states and her tendency to cry very easily, which may change over time but for now, she is still a fragile gem.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Without a doubt, Kymberlie is a Hufflepuff. She is loyal to her friends; she is outgoing, spunky and full of spirit and energy. Not to mention the fact that Kymberlie loves the color yellow.
