Brief Family History: Nirrimi’s family originates from West Virginia, and migrated to the United Kingdom shortly before Nirrimi was born. He is one of two children, his sister Alice being his twin and the elder by a margin of ten minutes. In the first 6-7 years of life, it was hard to differentiate the two twins despite gender. Nowadays, it is particularly easy owing to the differences in hair, attire and personality extremes. Neither Nirrimi’s parents nor his sister are magically gifted, though his maternal grandfather was notably a wizard. Nirrimi and Alice, despite being identical twins, are lacking in the close nature most twins usually share, absent even of typical sibling rivalries and affections. Having led such an emotionally separated life from his sister, it would be unlikely that, during his education at Hogwarts, he felt any separation anxiety towards his sister. Nirrimi regarded his acceptance to Hogwarts with some suspicion initially, having not heard of his grandfather Edward’s particular gifts until its arrival sparked a family investigation. Somewhat of an amateur writer and artist, Nirrimi is never to be found without a moleskine diary and pen.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Nirrimi is a highly perceptive personality, and although he is not in the usual habit of speaking his mind, he is particularly observant of others, usually savvy as to when a person is lying or not. Nim also has a sharp memory, rarely forgetting even the smallest details when the subject interests him whether they are academic or circumstantially relevant. He is also a strategist of sorts and is highly creative and resourceful when attaining a particular goal and is not hindered when it comes to acting under a hidden agenda. Nim excels in subjects that theory-based such as History of Magic and also subjects that require memorization and precision, such as Potions.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Nirrimi is somewhat lacking the motivation required to ‘jump in’ to situations. Preferring to stand back rather than get active, he often misses his chances.. This includes opportunities to actively seek out potential friendships. A prize wallflower, Nirrimi maybe particularly skilled at gauging those around him, but lacks the skills necessary to engage himself genuinely with other students. Having such a superb memory can also have its drawbacks. Nirrimi is prone to laziness and procrastination with his studies and whilst his memory has served him well up until now, it is predictable that he will run into a wall sooner or later. His strengths in terms of academics do not lie in practical applications such as Transfiguration, Herbology and DADA, as this is where his reliance on wholly theory-based subjects fails him.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Nim is perhaps most suited to Ravenclaw. Despite laziness in studies, this is not due to lack of interest- rather, an assumption of success without the need to study as hard. He enjoys reading and writing and therefore would be particularly suited to this house. If he were not able to join this house, I would suggest Slytherin as a second option as he is a skilled strategist and though he does not act to disadvantage others lightly, he is resourceful and inventive when attempting a goal, which occasionally involves some guerrilla warfare tactics.
I am aware that Ravenclaw is currently closed, but I wish to wait for an opening. If a placement isn't available, Nim would be best suited to Slytherin. =)
