The Sorting Hat (aka Character Sheets) / Wiath Snow - Approved [R]
« Last post by Wiath Snow on 14 Feb 2012, 08:18 am »
First and last name: Wiath Snow

Bloodline: Pure

Hair colour: Very light blond, almost white ; -)

Eye colour: blue

General build: petite

Height: short

Birthplace: Hastings

Brief childhood history:
Wiath was born in the town of Hastings. At birth the doctor immediately detected that something was different about the boy. His skin was whiter then everything the doctor had seen before on little children. When Wiath grew older his parents saw that his skin remained very pale and that his hair was very light blond, almost white. At the age of four his parents started teaching him reading and writing and they immediately saw that he was a quick learner. It took him only one year to read and write.

At the age of five, Wiath and his mom were at the local groceries store to do some shopping’s. Wiath was asked to wait at the door because his mother had forgotten something small, and went back in the store to get it. When his mother was inside, some boys came to Wiath and started mocking him about his pale skin and almost white hair. They called him names like “vampire” and “old man”. After that experience Wiath never went outside again, because he was afraid of what the other children would say to him. So he lived the first eleven years of his live at home with his parents.

Now at the age of eleven, he finally got his letter for Hogwarts. His parents thought he would be happy he could go there, but he was tremendously afraid. In the period he lived only in the safety of his household he grew enormously shy. He became afraid of the outside world and didn’t want to go to Hogwarts. After two weeks his parents were finally able to talk him into it, but Wiath made them promise that they would write him every day. When they went to Diagon Alley to buy Wiath’s stuff, people immediately began to point at him because of his light-blond hair. When it was time to go to Hogwarts, Wiath felt incredibly lonely and afraid.

Strengths:
Wiath is a very fast learner because it is one of the only things he really enjoys. Besides that he is also very strong at making huge projects on his own. He loves making potions, he never made a real one yet, but he always played potions teacher with his dad. Beside this huge interest in potions he also likes herbology

Weaknesses:
Because of his pale skin and almost white hair, wiath was always mocked by other kids. So he grew incredibly shy and is really bad at making friends, because he had no experience at all. Because of this he is really bad in defence against the dark arts, he is afraid of doing everything wrong in front of the whole class. He also doesn’t like astronomy, because he doesn’t like being outside at night.

What house does your character belong in and why?
I think my character belongs in ravenclaw because he is very clever and eager to learn. He also is a very fast learner and can think of creative ways to deal with problems

First and Last Name: Maxwell Miller.

Bloodline: Half-blood.
Hair Color: Light brown.
Eye Color: Blue.
General Build: Average.
Height: Average.

Birthplace: Crewe.
Brief Childhood History: Maxwell was brought up by his muggle born mother, since his father – who was a wizard - passed away when Maxwell was approaching the age of two. His mother remarried when Maxwell was eight years old, and although at first he found it difficult to adapt to the change, he now gets on incredibly well with his new step-father. He admires his mother more than anyone else and values her opinion the most, hence why he has learnt so much from her.
Unfortunately, Maxwell has never been able to gain many friends, though the ones he does have he considers close. He can count the number of friends he has on one hand but he has always considered the phrase ‘quality not quantity’ important.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Maxwell is incredibly hard-working, aspiring to impress his parents. He cares for others, particularly for his step-father who is prone to heart attacks. Maxwell has learnt from his mother how to cook, and he has developed a strong interest for it. When in Hogwarts, however, Maxwell hopes to do particularly well in potions as to take after his father. Another strength would be in muggle studies, since his mother was muggle born and his step-father is himself, a muggle. Maxwell is confident, outspoken and is never too willing to give up.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Although Maxwell is hard-working, it’s an attribute that he certainly isn’t praised for. He doesn’t achieve as highly as he should, and in primary school, he was constantly disheartened by teachers who were placing him in low-academic classes. However, since both his parents still believe in him, his confidence is never knocked too harshly. Maxwell isn’t great with science, specifically the knowledge of plants, which is why Herbology will not be strong point for him. Perhaps the same will be for Care of Magical Creatures, because of his lack of interest towards both animals and insects.
Aside from this, he can be sometimes described as too trusting. Due to his kind nature, he is never sure when someone is displaying harshness and even when he is; he will never try to seek revenge.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: I believe Maxwell belongs in the Hufflepuff house, because of his way of putting others before himself. His mother taught him the importance of the kindness characteristic above anything else. He is loyal, trustworthy and as mentioned before, hard-working.

The Sorting Hat (aka Character Sheets) / Mia Moss - Pending
« Last post by Mia Moss on 14 Feb 2012, 03:44 am »
First and Last Name: Mia Moss

Bloodline: pureblood
Hair Color: platinum blond
Eye Color: green
General Build: average
Height: average

Birthplace: London, England

Brief Childhood History:
Mia was born and raised in pure blood, rich family where she had everything she could wish for.
The only thing that was missing was the love of her parents.
Her father worked as Auror in the Ministry of Magic, so he was absent most of her childhood.
Neither the mother was't any better; all she ever thinks is clothes, shoes, love potions and spending her days searching for the next lover.
Nanny Penelope is the only parental figure that Mia had in her life and the only person that knew real her.
She didn't needed nobody to say to her that she is a witch - she knew that and  Hogwarts acceptance letter were just matter of time.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
She is very strong-willed, independent and ambitious perfectionist.
She'll be great in Transfiguration, Divination, Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Mostly she is cold and evil, at the times hard to handle.
Closes the doors for everyone who's trying to get to know her, but once when she opens that same door she becomes warm, caring and loyal friend.
Academically; Arithmancy and Ancient Runes are her weak points.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Without any doubt Mia belongs in Slytherin, although it wouldn't be so bad for her if she end up in Ravenclaw because of her artistic skills and wisdom.

First and Last Name: Castiel Fae Riley

Bloodline: Half-blood
Hair Color: Dirty blonde
Eye Color: Amber
General Build: Average
Height: Short

Birthplace: Leith, Scotland
Brief Childhood History: Castiel is the third child of Kellci and Aidan Riley. She has two brothers--Frank and Michael--who are two years older than her. They reside in Leith, Scotland (a coastal city just outside of Edinburgh) where Cas's muggle father owns a boat company a few miles from their home. Cas's mother works at the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Mysteries.
Before receiving her Hogwarts letter, Cas attended a public school where she didn't have many friends due to the fact that she is very curious, and skeptical. However, the few friends she did have--Ellen and Ali--were close to her and she expects that they will write to each other often now that Cas is attending a boarding school that her friends cannot.
When Castiel isn't at school, helping her father around the house, or playing rugby outside with her brothers she curls up in a chair and reads the books her mother brings home; books about magic. She is extremely awestruck at the wonder that is magic and often falls asleep on her mother's lap after hours and hours of asking questions about what Hogwarts will be like. She is fully convinced that she will do a profound job of adapting to the Wizarding World but is positive that she'll miss her life back home.

Strengths (Personality and Academic): Cas is very determined, clever, and likes to be well learned in everything she attempts. She takes charge, fully, when she is certain about something and will defend her opinion until the world ends (even if she's wrong). From what she knows about magic she thinks she will do extremely well in Potions, Transfiguration, and D.A.D.A. because while there are strict guidelines for those classes there is also room for trial and error.

Weaknesses (Personality and Academic): Castiel's biggest downfall is also her greatest attribute; her extreme thirst for knowledge. She feels the need to know anything and everything, asks almost too many questions and will never attempt something unless she has had background knowledge on the subject. She hates to look not knowledgeable and cannot accept the fact that nobody's perfect. She will most likely do the worst in: Divination, because no one can ever know the future for certain and Astronomy, because the sky is so vast and it's impossible to know everything about it.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: While Castiel exhibits many attributes of a Ravenclaw (i.e. intelligence, creativity and wit) she also exhibits many Slytherin characteristics; she's clever, has a ridiculous amount of ambition, and has excellent leadership skills. It would seem that Castiel would be best placed in Slytherin house.

The Sorting Hat (aka Character Sheets) / Willa Romley - Approved [H]
« Last post by Willa Romley on 13 Feb 2012, 03:29 pm »
First and Last Name: Willa Romley

Bloodline: Half-Blood
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Green
General Build: Petite
Height: Average

Birthplace: Durham, County Durham, England
Brief Childhood History:
Durham – a bustling and lively English city, full of character and style, it could be considered an exciting place to live for almost anyone. This particular city is not too crammed as some more populous cities and yet not so isolated and small, a good blend. Ormond Romley did not think of this when he chose to settle here, for he had been merely nineteen years old when he moved to Durham. Motived by a desire for familial independence and fueled by the rash, rebelliousness of youth, he migrated out of the heart of London, away from his family business with the sole purpose of creating his own legacy. Where his parents desired for Ormond to use his intellect somewhere in the Ministry or as a Healer neither of these suited his fancy in the slightest. And much to their disappointment he took the generous sum of money, some that he’d earned and some he’d inherited, to open a shop of his own - a shoe shop. Having apprenticed in an aged old shop in Wizarding London, during the summers while he attended Hogwarts, Ormand had acquired a skill and with his flair for whimsicality yet sophisticated styling his shoes became popular quite quickly in the area. It was during the early days of the start of his business when Ormond met Solange Bouchard.

The pair fell in love in a very short span of time, perhaps it was her flirtatiousness, how adorable and awkward her broken English was through her heavy French accent, or the childlike wonder and adventurousness that exuded from her – perhaps all the things that made Ormond Romley fall in love so rapidly was what made him miserable in the end. For everyone told him that a girl with a free spirit like that could never be tethered down and as fast as they were in blissful love they were put out and she was gone but in the wake of her departure Solange Bouchard left Ormond with one thing – a daughter. Willa Romley became the center of Ormond’s world. It was evident that this little girl was now the most important person in his life. In the beginning he dotted on her endlessly, while simultaneously trying to protect her from any and all outside forces that he felt could harm her which needless to say was everything, therefore Willa had a very sheltered life in the early days of her youth and spent a lot of time solely with her father at their home. However as his business expanded (to London and Dublin) and work needs became pressing Ormond started to loosen the reigns a bit.

Eventually he started to take Willa to his shop, she spent a lot of time playing make believe in the back of his workshop while he made shoes , then slowly after that they would spend time in the shop front as well and this was where she began to become quite exposed to the outside world. She would see people from all walks of life, all with very interesting stories. In this time her father had less and less time to spend with her but it did not affect her so severely for the pure fact that she was getting to explore an environment outside her home, allowing her for her imagination and social skills to slowly climb. She never really got too many playmates her own age and therefore relied heavily on entertaining herself. After the passing of her grandfather, Ormond would send Willa to spend the summers with her grandmother at her cottage home in Newborough, on Anglesey Island. Willa was about eight or nine at this time but it would be the first time she would have a female role model in her life, someone to genuinely spend a lot of time with and though her grandmother loved her she was quite stern. She lived a seaside country lifestyle and in this time Willa got accustomed to a lot of chores and homely activities, while still getting to explore more of an actual wilderness outside the city limits. It was a constant summer adventure that the girl cherished greatly.

Coming from a wizarding family, on her father’s side, Willa grew up accustomed to magic and when the odd sign of magic ability started to show through Willa the family was not surprised nor worried about it. She was raised with the expectation that she would attend Hogwarts like the rest of her family so naturally upon her eleventh birthday when her Hogwarts letter arrived the family was eager to send her off and Willa was eager to go, looking at the experience as just another life adventure.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Willa Romley is not the sharpest tool in the shed, brightest crayon in the box (…you get the drift here I’m sure) and while that’s not a strength in the slightest, what is a strength is her desire to learn, she wants to be good at everything really, and she will do whatever it takes to get there. She’ll sacrifice the hours of sleep to get the work done, she’ll bend over backwards find every opportunity she can. Willa may not have the brains but she has the drive. With a constant change in scenery growing up and a multitude of different people walking in and out of her life, Willa is actually quite creative. She tries to supress this aspect of herself but it tends to let itself be known in the small things that she says or does. Ironically, while Willa desires nothing more than to blend, she has an insane curiosity when it comes to differences, the little quirks that other people have is the most alluring thing to Willa and therefore she’s very open to what other people might find strange or “uncool” and she gives chances to anything.

In terms of her academics, Willa has taken a particular liking to History of Magic and Potions class, with exact measurements or memorization of facts, these classes fall in line with her dedication to study and her precision when it comes to following directions, which allow her to pick them up quicker than most other classes.

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Due in part to the heavy influence of her grandmother, there’s a certain rigidity that’s been ingrained in Willa and because of this Willa is one of those people that needs things done a particular way, to her liking, she doesn’t stray from this nor will she let anyone who has to participate in an activity with her stray from it either. Control issues are one way to put it but a particular obsessive nature is another way to think of it. When it comes to doing anything particularly “fun” Willa would be the one to say “But why would we want to do that?” if it doesn’t serve a particular purpose, like for her to achieve any of her goals, then she doesn’t get it. However when it comes to people she trusts she won’t think twice before going along, coercion is not a necessity when it comes to Willa and it can often get her into some troublesome situations. Due to her desperate desire to fit into a mold she’ll never quite be a part of socially, anyone that makes her aware of this or makes her feel inferior will be on the receiving end of her surliness, she can be quite unpleasant and doesn’t bother to hide it if she’s not on terms with you.

In terms of her academics, Willa does not particularly care for Charms or Transfigurations, her wand work is pretty weak and she finds the motion of incantations to be a bit random, which makes it hard for her to get a grasp of them, no matter how hard she tries.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Hufflepuff. Willa has an incredible work ethic, she wants nothing more to succeed and even if she's not the brightest or the most talented (etc.) she never stops trying. It's this in combination with her open mindedness to all kinds of people and things and her genuine honesty that I think would make her a pretty good fit in Hufflepuff.
