Birthplace: Buckton Vale, Manchester
Brief Family History: Mick was born to a small farming family in Buckton Vale on the 30th March. She lived the oblivious life of a muggle until the age of 9 when her magical ability started to present itself. Amazingly, the young girl never caused any damage to anyone with her magic, but that was probably because she never needed magic to cause any damage, she did perfectly fine in that area without it.

She was born into a male dominated family, with a young mum. Her mother tried her hardest to convince Michaela it was not a good idea to be one of the boys but the girl never listened. She went out farming, rode bikes, got into fights (especially with boys) and for a short while convinced people that her name was actually Michael. It’s not that she had a strong desire to be male, she just didn’t like behaving like a traditional female. She’s an adrenaline junkie, her current feat being that she wanted to be able to drive the tractor without assistance by the age of 12. Of course that’s not legal but most things that are exciting are never legal in Mick’s opinion.

She got lucky with primary school, being able to attend a mixed one, however there are a severe lack of females in her village so her class was also heavily dominated by males. She enjoyed everything about primary school and developed a love of being dramatic and playing dress-up whilst there. She’s been married in a dress made out of toilet paper at least three times, been a robot, cowgirl, princess and rabbit.

When her magic started to present itself, she thought she had actually become a superhero, the superhero in fact, mister X-man wolverine himself, due to her ability to heal in ridiculously short periods of time. So of course her dreams were shattered when mum told her it was only magic and she would not be meeting Professor Xavier (no she hasn’t seen the last stand yet, so no spoilers please!). She cheered up a bit when she heard that she did still get to go to a special school though, and Hogwarts had arrived just in the nick of time because her parents were going to try and get her into an all-girls comprehensive.

Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):

Michaela is actually pretty strong, physically. She’s very into her sports, but only the clumsy ones. She has her fair share of cuts, bruises and scars and is extremely proud of each and every one of them. She also has a well-practiced ability to focus. She can sit down and get a task completed in minutes if no one distracts her, but throw something shiny her way and she’s gone with the wind. It’s for that reason she got good grades in school, but she’s not actually that smart. Academically she’s very creative and so she will do well in History of Magic, as long as Binns isn’t looking for actual facts but very entertaining, imaginative and plausible theories of what happened in the past. She will also do well in flying, because to her that’s just a bike without wheels, herbology because she’s a farmer’s daughter and possibly potions - as long as no one snatches her potions book from her.

Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):

She’s very bad at retaining information and motivating herself to study for her own benefit. She places more value in actually experiencing life rather than reading about it. She’ll therefore do badly in classes like Astronomy, History of Magic if Binns expects actual facts and possibly a few of the non-cores like Ancient Runes and Arithmancy. She’s a bit of a hot-head and quite judgemental of other people because people seem to like judging her alot.

What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:

She’s got the kind of recklessness and foolish bravery that makes her well suited to Gryffindor, however she’s also quite gentle with a fiercely loyal heart that could allow her to do well in Hufflepuff. Of the two, I lean more towards Hufflepuff, because chivalry is dead and quite offensive when it comes to Mick Hadaway.
