Brief Childhood History:
Cathryn Amara Byrd wasn't surprised when she got her letter saying she was accepted to Hogwarts. She even had a good idea of what to expect, because her family has been made up almost entirely of witches and wizards for generations. Her mother, Sandra Byrd, is a nurse at St. Mungos, and her father holds a position at the Ministry of Magic. She is the youngest of three children, and her family lovingly refers to her as an "Oops!" baby, because her sister, Kristen McAleer Byrd is 12 years older than her, and her brother James Byrd is 14 years older than her. They were only at home during the summers, so she doesn't have much of a relationship with them, however her brother did find time to ride broom with her a little bit. Her sister mostly avoided Cathryn, disliking her for her ability to garner the attention of the adults. Perhaps when they are both older, and Cathryn is no longer getting all the "baby" of the family attention, they can build a relationship.
As far as life in the wizarding world goes, Cathryn's was fairly uneventful. Because her family is made up of individuals so much older than her, her childhood was solitary. She spent quite a bit of time reading, and learned at a young age how to capture the attention of adults. Now that she is interacting more with people her own age, she has to remind herself not to be obnoxiously knowledgeable. She also has to remember that interacting with adults has left her with a completely different vernacular than that of most children her age. Her mother always referred to Cathryn as "Her little actress," which is fairly lucky for Cathryn, simply because she can behave as the situation merits... MOST of the time. Like most children, she is ruled by her emotions, and sometimes forgets to behave as she should.
Growing up in a small wizarding hamlet like Mould On The Wold would normally cause a child to be completely unknowing of the muggle world, but one of Cathryn's older cousin's married a muggle, and they have two children, both much younger than Cathryn, but they are being raised in the muggle world. While Cathryn doesn't think it all that stimulating to spend time with her younger family members, their proximity has caused Cathryn to pick up a thing or two about the muggle world. She, of course, feels she will have no use for the information, but has filed away none the less, in case it should ever come in handy. You see, Cathryn doesn't exactly disdain muggles, but the odds of her choosing to spend time with one are fairly slim. She looks at muggles much the same way a song bird would perhaps look at a crow. Yes, they are similar, and yes, they live in some of the same places, but that doesn't make them cut from the same cloth... And why ANYone should choose not to have magic is just beyond her!
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Cathryn's strengths are few at the tender young age of 11, but the potential for many can be seen. Her current basic strengths could lead to any number of strengths and abilities as she grows into the witch she is going to be when she grows up. Because she is an avid reader, she is very adept at History of Magic. She tends to read ahead, especially during Binns’ lectures. Her great interest brings her to practice her charms and transfiguration homework often. They say that 10,000 hours of practice will make anyone proficient at something, and between reading the theory and doing her practical work, she is well on her way to being great at both subjects.
Her personal strengths seem to be a double edged sword. Having spent most of her time around adults, observing and imitating their ways, she has developed a passive aggressive way of handling conflict and people she doesn't like. While this may, to some, seem a fault, she uses it to her advantage. She can hide her snide comments in a complement with aplomb, and as she grows into a teenager and has to deal with “cliques,” her ability to participate in the “psychological war-fare” of other girls her age will come in handy. Of course, the fact that she was able to observe and learn these behaviors from the adults around her shows how clever she is. She takes that ability, and that cleverness, and puts it into her school work, able to grasp the theory of most subjects easily, even if she has difficulty with the practical nature of some things. Then again, she is able to counter act any practical difficulties with her creativity. If she has trouble unlocking a door with a spell, she will find a way to make it disappear, knock it down, blow it up, etc.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
For all that Cathryn is clever, she is TERRIBLE with numbers, and has and always will be abysmal at Arithmancy. She has already begun planning ways to avoid taking the class. Cathryn also hates Divination, because there seems to her to be no exact way to practice it. As far as she is concerned, she could probably pass the class if she bullocks-ed her way through it, but she has such utter disdain for it that she could never lower herself to take the class unless it was unavoidable. Cathryn is also terrible at Care of Magical creatures. This isn't because of a lack of understanding, or even a dislike of animals. In fact, Cathryn loves animals, and would love to have any number of pets. Her parents won't allow her anything more exotic than a cat because she has a tendency to forget to feed or walk animals, and therefore tends to fail her practical homework. This shows her greatest personal weakness, and one that she will hopefully grow out of. Cathryn is very irresponsible. If there is something she would rather be doing than what she is supposed to do, she'll do it. She's also lazy, and unless it is something that greatly interests her, she probably won't rouse herself to participate unless she has to. Finally, her passive aggressive nature is, in the end, also a weakness, for the same reason it is a strength. If she's not careful, she might as well change the “w” in witch to a “b,” if you catch the drift.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Slytherin, because Cathryn is a natural born politician, and while her nature would be considered precocious in some kids, for her it gives her a predisposition towards manipulation and cunning!

So your sheet looks great, but I'm going to have to ask you to choose one specific house you feel Cathryn will fit best into. Once you've done that, just swap the title from 'pending' to 'edited'!
