Brief Childhood History: Esther’s mother died in childbirth, so she grew up with her wizard father in Wales where she was homeschooled. She and her father were very close, since he was raising her alone and they lived on the outer edges of their town. Her father was a muggle-born wizard who dropped out of Hogwarts half way through his 6th year. He often had a tendency to mess up spells which would result in them needing to go several miles away to camp for the night. On these occasions her father would tell tales of his friends and his adventures. However, he rarely spoke of her mother. Whenever they could they would take a day trip to go fishing. This was the only thing her father would mention about her mother, how she loved fishing, so it was her and her father’s tradition to fish in memory of her mother.
She had only a few very close friends. Her closest friend was called Allyson. Allyson was the daughter of one of Esther’s father’s school friends. They lived nearby and visited often. Whenever Esther and her father had to go out camping they would invite Allyson along. Whenever they had free time they would hang out together. Even though both of Allyson’s parents were magical, she was not. Esther often stood up to Allyson’s siblings and their friends, who would mock Allyson for not having magic. When Esther was nine Allyson and her family moved to Spain. Esther and Allyson kept in contact, writing letters to each other every week.
When Esther received her letter to Hogwarts she was concerned about being away from home and her father, but she was excited to see what it was like in a place that was almost completely magic. Even though her dad is a wizard she grew up mostly as a muggle, with spells being something done to fix small stuff or an experiment. She also was concerned that there was a higher chance of her mail to Allyson would get lost since Scotland is further from Spain then Wales. For the most part though, she was very excited to go to Hogwarts.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):Esther is good at charms and she always gets work done but she often loses it. She is also very good in herbology and never reveals secrets. Though she is usually very shy she does not have any tolerance for bullies and won’t keep quiet if she sees some one being mocked.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): she is horrible at potions and very unorganized. She is easily distracted and almost never thinks before she speaks. Since she has a very bad attention span her success in transfiguration is very low.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Esther should be in Hufflepuff because she is very loyal to her friends and family. She is very patient and would stay up however late to complete whatever assignment or activity she was doing.
