Brief Childhood History:
Her parents, June and David met in school, they were both in the Slytherin house as was tradition in both of their families. June and David were both blood purists and raised their only child, Tai, with such views. She grew up with a sense of superiority, not just for being a pureblood but for coming from a long line of Slytherin. Now, her parents weren't exactly the loving type, Tai can count on one hand the number of tender moment she's had with her parents and still have fingers to spare. They also raised her under the impression that emotions were weakness and to show people your emotions is to allow them to gain something over you. She is well practiced in keeping a monotone voice and making sure that her facial expressions aren't anything past microscopic when she smiles or frowns.
They were quizzing her on things that she'd better know for school before her letter came, and when it finally did there wasn't much excitement at the Ockley house. Tai simply sighed an, "About time," glanced over the words, and placed it on her father's desk. Her parents then commented that they'd have to go shopping soon and then went back to their lives.
Past the eerily non responsive attitude of the child, one of the more stranger things would have to be her wardrobe choice. Tai never matches, unless highly stressed. When she was younger she was curious to see what Muggles actually looked at and requested a trip from her parents. Unsure of what to wear and assuming they were odd looking, she dressed herself in a variety of mix-matching patterns. While she was sorely disappointed to see that they weren't in fact knuckle dragging apes, but instead looked very similar to her, Tai did take great joy in all of the attention that she received thanks to her odd looks. Since then she's refused to match her clothes, and her parents haven't faulted her much so long as she makes her marks and dresses nice when need be. So long as she is the best in every way that's important, they are fine with their daughter's odd choice in clothing, or fine enough at least.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
She is a very honest person and is very loyal to those she deems worthy, and that ends up being a very short list of people. The young brunette grew up with her parents quizzing her near non stop on all things magical and therefore developed great book smarts as well as a major competitive nature. In the Ockley home, the only place that mattered was first, everything else was last place in their minds thus she had to do her best to be the very very best. She takes after her parents' in the ways of hospitality and will give each person a fair chance to prove themselves when she first meets them,but they have to work very hard afterwards if they mess that up. Despite her short comings in the 'warm and cuddly' department, she is very patient and respectful towards her elders and superiors.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Tai's parents didn't really encourage any sort of frivolous behavior so she never got into certain tasks that other kids delight in, such as playing with hair or collecting cards from chocolate frogs; this makes it very difficult for her to relate to kids her age. Muggle studies may never be a class she takes seriously as she views it as pointless in every way due to her upbringing. She doesn't socialize very well at all, and sometimes (okay, near all the time) and her very blunt comments can be taken as an attack and makes it even harder for her to relate to people her age. Thanks to her antisocial behavior, she was always alienated outside of the social gatherings she was forced into and never really made any friends. Sadly she has a very weak stomach and will faint if she sees blood. The girl doesn't take making mistakes well due to her growing up with perfectionist parents, she expects perfect from herself even on her first time through things. Whenever Tai messes up she tends to let it show and will often take things out on those around her.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: Slytherin (willing to wait)
She has a huge sense of superiority and comes from a very long line of Slytherin as well. While she is honest, she's also willing to just honestly admit that the rule was stupid so she did it her way. Not exactly the warm and cuddly type, she prefers to be on her own and if she doesn't like you she wont hesitate to throw you in front of the bus.
