Brief Childhood History:
Ava was born to Ernest and Ann Williams on a pleasant day in August. They had been trying to have a child for quite some time, and as a result Ava was enormously treasured. The Williams family was also a small one, neither of her parents having siblings, and as such she was a much wanted addition to the bloodline. Her first magical abilities appeared at age 4, when she was in Diagon Alley in the bookshop where her father worked; she had gone with her mother to say hello to daddy after shopping, and was wandering about on her own in the shop, when she spotted a book she wanted. She brought it back to her mom, who said no. Ava proceeded to throw a tantrum so hefty she blew a whole shelf of books off the racks, for which she was rewarded with the book she wanted so much and what felt like a thousand hugs and kisses. She was very confused by this, but was elated to have the book.
Raised seaside in the South of England, she would go to the sea very often. Near any body of water, she would feel at home, but especially near oceans. On her 8th birthday, Ava came home from Muggle school (which she attended at the wish of her parents) to find a big fish tank with an octopus in it in her room. She named him Donglebert, and he was her closest companion until she decided to set him free when his time neared at 2 years old. As for other friends, she had a handful from the school she attended before Hogwarts. Her academic abilities were pretty much average, but she could do very well if she set her mind to it.
The day Ava got her Hogwarts letter was one of the most exciting and sad days in her life. Sad, because she knew that it meant that she couldn’t stay in touch as easily with her old friends, but exciting because she was brimming with wishes of learning to do magic like her parents were able to.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Ava is adaptable, both to situations and people. She is also open-minded about most things and is always interested in differing opinions and unknown facts. These two traits make her perceiving and aware of things that others might miss. She’s also optimistic in most cases. Her best subject would probably be Charms or Transfiguration, because she’s sensitive to the little details of the hand movements and incantation differences that constitute success in those subjects.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Ava is not too easily hurt, but when she is, she holds grudges. This applies especially to situations in which she is being ridiculed. She can also be very vocal about her opinions (though not to the point of stupidity), and with that follows a certain level of hotheadedness and stubbornness if a disagreement should arise. Her worst subject would probably be History of Magic, as she has problems wrapping her head around the immensity of it. It’s not that she doesn’t want to, but a certain reluctance towards numbers and a multitude of names combined with confusion makes the subject hard for her.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
Ava is well suited for all houses on different levels, but I feel she would do best in Gryffindor because of her stubborness and outspoken nature.
