First and Last Name: India Helen Hershel

General Build: Average
Height: Short
Birthplace: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Brief Childhood History:
India Helen Hershel was born as the fourth child of an family of six. Her father Garsin Hershel is a book trader and travels around the entire world searching for special and rare books. Her mother Deena Saar-Hershel is a violist and accompanies her husband in his journeys whilst earning her money playing on markets and public places with her children. Naturally India learned to play music (she takes after the violin, just like her mother) from a very young age. She hates playing for others though, because she had been forced to do that all of her life to earn money.
For years India witnessed her parents unorthodox ways of earning money, and it gave her a wrong image of the world and the way of getting things she wanted. She always had to fight her siblings for attention and recognition, and that's why she needs to be the best in everything.
India definitely shares her fathers passion for books, and she tries to read as much books she gets her hands on, even if she has to steal them from her father.
India never really had friends because she travels so much, and because her parents made the children compete she doesn't really open up to people and she always thinks they are against her. It is not easy to make friends for her.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic):
Astronomy is definitely her best subject. India stares at the stars every chance she gets, so she definitely would memorize all of them. Transfiguration is also her forté; she has a natural affinity with it. A strenght concerning her personality is that she is very strongwilled. She will learn non-stop for a test to be the best in that subject.
Because of her travelling she has extensive knowledge of other cultures and people. She understands how relationships work between people and how their cultural and natural differences cause problems and how those problems are to be solved.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic):
Because of her travelling she cannot bind herself to other people. Why would you do that when you know that someday they will disappear again? India has also never learned the right ways of earning respect and money. She has never learned to care for others and only fends for herself and counts solely on herself. She will not shy away from stealing your books so that she can be the best.
Her worst subjects are divination because she can't count on her own intelligence about that and she thinks that it is to be based on worldly things. The other thing she despises is arithmancy. She can't figure out those numbers and she hates the subject because of it.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why:
I really feel India should be in Ravenclaw. She may have unorthodox ways of getting things and she may steal things; but she only does that to gain knowledge and be the best. She drinks in everything she sees and uses it for her benefit and to gain more wisdom from it. Although she is ignorant about some things, she is a Ravenclaw by heart and I wouldn't put her anywhere else.

Since Ravenclaw is closed at the moment, I'm going to stick you onto the waiting list. If at any point you would like to change India's house, simply edit the sheet accordingly and reply here. ;)
