Brief Childhood History: Kaori is the result of a union between a half-Scot, half-Japanese Muggle mother, Naomi Carlyle, an industrial chemist, and a Wizard father, Mamoru Shinohara, a 2nd generation immigrant numerologist and Arithrimancy specialist working for the Ministry of Magic's Edinburgh office. Born in the Scottish capitol of Edinburgh, Kaori was raised in the United Kingdom, moving to present Glasgow at age 7 upon her father's transfer to a different Ministry branch office.
An only child and tall for her age, Kaori has been shown affection and encouragement from her parents, who recognized their daughter possessed a bright mind and curious, imaginative nature. Moving from Edinburgh to Glasgow made Kaori have to break what little friendships she'd mustered and start anew. While personable and sociable for her age, she prefers solace in place of boisterous company, following pursuits of the mind--like her father's Arithrimancy books--and keeping up on the latest Quiddich matches than popularity contests at her Muggle primary school. What few friends she has at home are Muggles, but that doesn't bother her one bit and she tries to spend at least some time with them.
Upon acceptance and enrollment into Hogwarts, both her and her parents became very excited for her future prospects, and have been fussily preparing Kaori ever since.
Strengths (Including Personality and Academic): Kaori's keen intellect has always steered her to invest time in her studies. Her favorite subjects are Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and History of Magic, though she's frustrated that at 1st year they aren't allowed to take Arithrimancy. Kaori is determined, quick-thinking, and logical, burying her feelings underneath those exterior facets. One of her many passions is Quiddich, and as a result very excited to do some flying of her own. Another such hobby is the cello, which she began playing a year before being accepted to Hogwarts. Passionate about her studies, she values intelligence and good sense. Her most peculiar strength is attributed to her father, Arithrimancy, which she uses the rudiments of to predict (if only somewhat successfully) Quiddich matches and other outcomes.
Weaknesses (Including Personality and Academic): Kaori's dry-witted nature and sharp tongue often push away as many people as it may draw, and her tendancy to keep her emotions hidden often lends her the impression of being callous and aloof--which isn't necessarily untrue. It's not that she does not value kindness, but rather that kindness is tempered by her cool attitude and having been the target of many Muggle pranks and jokes. Sometimes, her habit of keeping to herself makes others think she's keeping secrets or absconding to no good. Self-reliant, she is often unwilling to accept others' help and advice when in a bind. Her weakest subjects are Herbology and Transfiguration, the former of which Kaori feels she's fairly dismal at.
What House You Feel Your Character Belongs In and Why: From the get-go, young Kaori has desired to be in Ravenclaw, having read the exploits of Rowena Ravenclaw, and having two parents who both have impressed the value of knowledge and understanding of the world around her, both Magical and otherwise. However, should she be sorted into some other house, she isn't about to let that get her spirits down.

Hi there and welcome to HPRPG! :) Your character sheet looks wonderful besides the one small issue of birthplace. :gonnacry: We require all characters to be born and raised in UK or Ireland, since that's the canon standard we had set by the books. Kaori's welcome to have spent some time in Kamakura or elsewhere in Japan, but we need her birthplace to not be a vacation spot since we hold everyone else to that as well. My apologies~
