Type of Natural Disaster: Well, there are lots of trees where I live, so we get power outages a lot. Last winter my neighbors lost power in a snowstorm, and had no heating for a week! (This happened all over our county) So, I never knew how long we'll lose power, and what by either.
Months in which this is common: Summer- heavy rains, mild tropical storms (somehow they get up to where I live), and in the winter snowstorms (rather unpredictable). I thought I should get this in, seeing as it's getting rather cold out.

Months in which this is common: Coming right now. Apparently it's supposed to be pretty big! Everyone is freaking out. Last time we had a storm (not even one as strong) we lost power for nearly a week, since I live in a forest area. :|
